Generate Crew is on the hunt for a generative VFX trainee for a ‘high-profile’, yet-to-be-announced production shooting in Sydney for a streaming service.

The project is in pre-production and will begin filming on November 5, both on location and in studio, with applications open for the paid placement until this Friday, 5pm AEST.

The Masterclasses will be led by two of the most senior practitioners working on international productions in Australia. Production Manager Murray Alford (Boy Swallows Universe, Elvis) and Supervising Location Manager Lauren Cooper (Elvis, Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat) have held key roles on some of the largest studio productions ever filmed in this country, and both are currently working at that level.

Those coming out of study are often met with a stark reality: There is no clear “on-ramp” to starting a career in film and television, where jobs are almost never advertised and getting a foot in the door often depends on who you know.
